Yes, this is true!

The Indus Valley people who lived in the place which is today next to Harappa in Pakistan left behing them some inscriptions of these pictographs, which we can see today.

There are around 500 known pictographs in this script. Some of them are easy to decipher: for example "arrow" looks like an arrow.
