Furhman thought his conviction was unfair.  This is because the sentencing on capital punishment was not well defined.  It was later overturned by the Supreme Court.  It also redefined how a death penalty would be the verdict.  This had to be given at the time of the trial and details examined by the jury. It also brought out the need of a constant policy when it comes to the death penalty.
