how does man's bite compare with winters in blow blow

In the poem Shakespeare is elaborating on the sinful ways of man and how their actions are worse then that of a winters bite. It is comparing how ungrateful and rude man is to that of winter wind.  Its an interesting comparison and I understand how it can be confusing.
