during Meiosis, a single Cell will divide into 2 copies. Each of this copies will carry half of the genetic information that the cell has and later be stored on our sex cells ( when we produced sperm or eggs)

The probability for the sperm to get a certain genetic information is 50 : 50 ( because the genetic information divided into 2) , exactly like the probability of a coin flipping
