The sum of all even numbers up to 100 is just two times the sum of the first 50.
[tex] {50}^{2} + 50 = 2550[/tex]
Then we get the sum of all even and odd numbers to 100.
[tex] \frac{ {100}^{2} + 100 }{2} = 5050[/tex]
Then we subtract the first from the second.
[tex]5050 - 2550 = 2500[/tex]
