1 + 2x(x-2) + x^2 + 6x. The only reason that I need help is because since there are two number to begin with, I'm not sure on how to start off and begin simplifying this problem.

First distribute the 2x.

1 + 2x^2 - 4x + x^2 + 6x

Then combine like-terms.

4x^2 + 2x +1
