To protect themselves from invaders, they built the Wall so they couldn’t climb or pull it down
The Great Wall of China was built to protect the Chinese from invaders (such as the Mongolians or any other neighboring country from attacking). It was originally build to defend from one side, but later was restructured to defend against all sides.
