[tex] - 4 + \sqrt{ - 4} + \sqrt{ - 4^{2}} + 2i [/tex]
[tex] - 4 + \sqrt{i \times 4} + \sqrt{ i \times 16} - \sqrt{16} + 2i[/tex]
[tex] - 4 + 2i + 4i - 4 + 2i[/tex]
Then combine like terms
[tex]( - 4 - 4) + (2i + 4i + 2i)[/tex]
Your final answer should be
[tex] - 8 + 8i[/tex]
