Solve by Completing the Square x^2 + 8x – 2 = 0

x^2+8x ____ = 2

x^2+8x+16=2

(x+4)^2 =2

Square root both sides

x+4=square root of (2)

subtract four form both sides

x= square root of (2) - 4
