The formula of a distance between two points:

[tex]d=\sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}[/tex]

We have the points (3, 5) and (4, 6). Substitute:

[tex]d=\sqrt{(4-3)^2+(6-5)^2}=\sqrt{1^2+1^2}=\sqrt{1+1}=\sqrt2\approx1.4[/tex]

Answer: D) 1.4
