Christophorus Columbus (1451-1506)-Spanish navigator, in 1492 opened for Europeans America.  

Jacques Cartier (1491-1557)-Breton Navigator, which started the French colonization of North America.  

Samuel de Champlain (1567-1635)-French traveler and Hydrographer, who received in 1601 the title of "Royal geographer", founder and governor of the first French settlements in Canada (Quebec).
