What is the difference between the words “escaped” and “escaping?”

Escaped is the passed tense so that means it already happened . Escaping is what’s happening now so that means its happening

Answer: The difference is that one is past tense and one is present  tense.

Explanation: Escaped is past tense because it contains "ed" and escaping is the present tense because it contains the suffix  "ing" because it is happening right now.
