where m = mass  ,  v= velocity.

The velocity of the body increases from 16 m/s to 64 m/s.

v1 =16 m/s  , v2=64 m/s.

The ratio of the final Kinetic to the initial Kinetic energy will give us the required answer

final Kinetic energy / initial Kinetic energy = [tex]\frac{1}{2}mv_{2}^{2} /\frac{1}{2}mv_{1}^{2}[/tex]

= [tex]v_{2}^{2}/ v_{1}^{2}[/tex]

= 64²/16²

=16 times larger
