The Confederacy was the force that opposed the Union during the Civil War. They were mainly in the south of the United States of America, and fought against the North, where the Union was located. They wanted to keep slavery so they could support their plantations, while the Union wanted to be rid of slavery, thinking it was inhumane and unjust to enslave someone just because of their skin color.
