To solve for "b", you need to isolate/get the variable "b" by itself in the equation:

[tex]\frac{4b+8}{2}= 10[/tex]    First multiply 2 on both sides to get rid of the fraction

[tex]2(\frac{4b+8}{2} )=10(2)[/tex]

4b + 8 = 20        Subtract 8 on both sides

4b + 8 - 8 = 20 - 8

4b = 12       Divide 4 on both sides to get "b" by itself

[tex]\frac{4b}{4}=\frac{12}{4}[/tex]

b = 3           [answers are bolded]
