There used to be a job where somebody knocked on windows to wake somebody up for work or any other tasks.They got rid of this job because it wasn’t need after a alarm clock was made.

A example of a career that is no longer used is the Elevator Operators. This career had to make you manually open and close doors, greet guests, and address any problems that cropped up

This career went extinct since nowadays elevators are now able to function by itself.
