Be proactive, and be mindful of crosswalks, each sign you pass know what it means. Observe other drivers. Be aware of your surroundings and assume the other drivers are going to make a mistake and be ready to make a defensive move when they do. You can fill in the blanks from here...
Don't be distracted, always ask help from a passenger, and don't get on your phones while driving wait till a stop sign.
