How is the end result of mitosis different than the end result of meiosis?

In meiosis you have 4 gamete sex cells that are all n=23 that might differ depending if there was crossing over or not. At the end of meiosis you have two daughter somatic cells that are identical. They are both 2n=46 which means they are diploid.
