we know that

The surface area of a sphere is equal to

[tex]SA=4\pi r^{2}[/tex]

where

r is the radius of the sphere

in this problem we have

[tex]r=16\ units[/tex]

substitute in the formula

[tex]SA=4\pi(16^{2})[/tex]

[tex]SA=1,024\pi\ units^{2}[/tex]

or

[tex]SA=3,216.99\ units^{2}[/tex]

therefore

the answer is

[tex]SA=1,024\pi\ units^{2}[/tex]
