It states that two moles of magnesium reacts with 1 mole of diatomic oxygen gas or 2 moles of oxygen atoms yields 2 Moles of magnesium oxide ash. One mole of magnesium = 24 grams while one mole of oxygen atom is 16 grams or 32 grams as gas.
