the temperature in stratford starts at -5ºc, rises at -18ºc then falls at -8ºc what is the final temperature

Explanation:
This problem is worded a bit weird but let’s follow it along.

Our starting temperature is -5 C. We then know that the temperature “rises” at -18 C. Well clearly negative is not rising. We will combine these two to follow the verbiage. So -5 + -18 is -23 C.

It then states that the temperature falls at -8 C so we need to subtract-8 C from -23 C. So we have -23 - -8 = -23 + 8 = -15 C.

So our final temperature is -15 C.
