let the first number be x
let the second number be y
therefore, x+y=12........1
and x×y=-64................2
factors of 64 include
1 and 64,
2 and 32,
4 and 16 
here we find out that 16+-4=12 and that 16×-4=-64
∴, x=16
and y=-4

-4+16= 12
-4*16=-64
First add negative 4 to positive 16 and get 12.Then multiply -4 by 16 you get -64 same numbers different answers.
