Step 1: Simplify both sides of the equation

1/2p=p+−1/4

Step 2: Subtract p from both sides

1/2p−p=p+−1/4−p

−1/2p=−1/4

Step 3: Multiply both sides by 2/(-1)

(2−1)*(−12p)=(2−1)*(−14)

p=1/2 or in decimal (0.5)
