The distance of BC is going to be the shortest side. (see attached picture)
B(1,-2) C(0,-6)

Now plug the points into the distance formula
Distance= √(x2-x1)² + (y2-y1)²
Distance= √(0-1)² + (-6+2)²
Distance= √(-1)² + (4)²
Distance= √1 + 16
Distance= √17
Distance is approx 4.12
