By definition, a respirocyte is a specialised cell in our body wherein it has this unique trait to function as a red blood cell. Furthermore, it is commonly used in our respiratory and cardiovascular systems. However, it could also function in other systems of our body such as our sensory system, in which it monitors the gas content.
