How would someone identify an above ground fault on a geologic map?

A fault is a geographical structure, which is a crack in the crust of the earth. They are formed due to the presence of tectonic place boundaries. Faults are represented on geological maps by dark, thick lines; therefore, they can be identified on on maps.
