 in adaptations when certain individuals in a population have higher reproduction and survival rates becauyse of a particular trait. As this trait is passed on over the course of many generations, all individuals eventually possess the trait and the population evolves.

Because for example, a moth with bright colors will be easily seen by predator compared to moths with neutral colors. The colorful moths quickly die out and the moth species evolves to be more neutral colored.
