Oxidation


Mechanical weathering, also known as physical weathering, is the process of rocks and minerals breaking down into smaller pieces without a change in chemical composition. Chemical weathering, on the other hand, does result in a change in chemical composition. Oxidation is a very common chemical reaction and involves oxygen.
