Russian communism, Italian fascism, and German Nazism were all varieties of authoritarian rule. It all imposed government decisions which violated personal freedom of people. The qualities of an authoritarian government that these have displayed are a powerful central government, the use of force to make people abide their governance, suppression of political organizations, bureaucracy of military.
