What argument did people who opposed using the atomic bomb on Japan make to support their point of view

There were many topics and claims in favor for the opposition party for use of the atomic bomb(s), but i'm only going to name three.

1. They said that the bomb was originally intended for the defensive, not offensive. 

2. They also claimed how it was highly illegal, since it's use of chemical weaponry was for mass destruction.

3. The use of the Atomic bomb(s) was racially motivated.
