Using the quadratic formula:
n = [-b +- sq root (b^2 -4*a*c)] / 2a
n = [--7 +- sq root (49 -4*2*6)] / 4
n = [--7 +- sq root (49 -48)] / 4
n = [--7 +- sq root (1)] / 4
n1 = (7 + 1) / 4
n1 = 2

n2 = (7 -1) / 4
n2 = 1.5
