The term "Mendelian marker" was given by Lawrence Hasbrouck Snyder to describe the Mendelian traits to be used as markers. He was a human geneticist who utilized genetic approach to treat human diseases.
Mendelian marker is a single gene trait. L.H. Snyder meant by Mendelian markers as any Mendelian trait if inherited can be used as a marker in the experiments.
