A neutral hydrogen atom consists of one proton and one electron. The electron is the negatively charged subatomic particle, while the proton is the positively charge subatomic particle. So, when an electron is lost, what's left is a hydrogen ion, or basically a hydrogen proton. Thus, the answer is proton.
