If y/5+8=7, what is the value of y/5-2

"y/5+8=7, what is the value of y/5-2?"  Simplify the first equation:  
 
y/5 = 7 - 8, or -1, so y/5 = -1, or y = -5.

Then y/5 - 2 equals -5/5 - 2, or -3.
