Let pears = x and peaches = y

5x + 6y = 11.20
3x = 2y

3x = 2y so rearrange --> x = 2y/3

Sub that into 5x + 6y = 11.20

5*2y/3 + 6y = 11.20
10y/3 + 6y = 11.20
10y/3 + 18y/3 = 11.20
28y/3 = 11.20
28y = 11.20*3
28y = 33.60
y = 33.60/28 = 1.20 so 1 peach costs 1.20

now use this in 3x = 2y

3x = 2*1.20
3x = 2.40
x = 2.40/3 = 0.80

A pear costs 0.80 and a peach 1.20
