The settlement of the issue of palestine after world war I was produced when the United Kingdom received a mandate from the League of Nations to administer the territory of Palestine through the Balfour Declaration of 1917 in which the British government declares itself in favor of a "national home" for Jews in Palestine and in the British Mandate over Palestine.
