Why is dna coiled into chromosomes in eukaryotes?

In eukaryotes, DNA exist as a double helix and it is coiled whereby in Prokaryotes, it is a simple circular loop. DNA is coiled into chromosomes for several reasons. Some of these include:

1) For easier transportation 
2) For easier separation during cell division
3) Coiled around histone proteins subunits (this does not exist in prokaryotes), which together with DNA forms nucleosome
