First distribute the 6 in the equation.

6x - 30 = 54

Now add 30 on both sides.

6x - 30 + 30 = 54 + 30
6x = 84

Now divide both sides by 6.

6x/6 = 84/6
x = 14

So x is 14

Hope this helps :)
