The flow of information proceeds from DNA to RNA to protein. The who;e flow of information is called the gene expression. Information from a gene is used in the synthesis of a functional gene product. DNA molecules is transcribed to yield Messenger RNA which is the undergoes translation to give proteins that dictate the cellular activities of a cell.
