Hello!

So the sum of 4 consecutive odd numbers is 40

a + b + c + d = 40

since they are consecutive this can be rewritten as

d + (d - 2) + (d - 4) + (d - 6)

Combine like terms

4d - 12 = 40

Add 12 to both sides

4d = 52

Divide both sides by 4

d = 13

The largest number is 13

Hope this helps!
